It’s important to keep in mind that any orthodontic treatment can cause some degree of pain, but compared to other solutions, like traditional metal or ceramic braces, Invisalign is much less painful.
Feeling some discomfort is totally normal, and it may feel like a squeezing sensation around your teeth. But this only means that your aligners are doing their job correctly to close any gaps in your teeth and align them together.
You may also experience some friction between the edges of your aligners and your gums and the insides of your lips, but this is nothing that a little numbing gel or an ice pack can’t fix.
If you’re experiencing intense discomfort or other symptoms such as bleeding gums, facial swelling or extreme teeth sensitivity following your Invisalign treatment, don’t hesitate to contact our orthodontists here at Hertford Dental Care.
