Dental hygienist and Therapist

BSc Hons Dental Hygiene and Therapy University of Leeds

GDC No. 309196

Ellena graduated with a first class BSc Hons in Dental Hygiene and Therapy from the University of
Leeds and joined the team in 2023.

Ellena is a GDC registered dental hygienist and therapist, and member of the British Society of
Dental Hygiene and Therapy, and the British Association of Dental Therapists. Her dedication to
providing the highest quality dental care extends to her commitment to staying at the forefront of
the dental field. Ellena regularly participates in continuing education programs, conferences, and
seminars to expand her knowledge and skill set.

Ellena’s comprehensive approach ensures that patients receive individualised, exceptional care
whether it involves routine appointments to maintain gum health, or intensive treatment for gum
disease.

During your appointment, Ellena will carry out a screening for oral cancer and make an
assessment of your gum health. She will review your oral hygiene routine and lifestyle, making you
aware of any risk factors for dental or gum disease. Ellena will carry any necessary treatment and
ensure you receive the most up to date oral health advice. Ellena aims to ensure you leave with a
clear understanding of your dental health and knowledge of how to improve or maintain this.

During any treatments, Ellena’s gentle and skilled approach ensures discomfort is minimised. She
is attentive, providing explanations and reassurance throughout the procedure.

Ellena enjoys treating patients of all ages including children and is keen to support them in
establishing good oral health habits from a young age. Ellena understands that visiting the dentist
can be a daunting experience for many individuals and is experienced in looking after patients
who are dentally anxious. Ellena understands that fear of pain is a common concern for many
patients, and she takes this seriously. She takes the time to listen to your concerns and fears,
creating a safe and non-judgmental environment. Ellena is committed to ensuring that every
patient’s visit to the dental chair is as comfortable and pain-free as possible. For procedures that
may involve discomfort, she can utilise local anaesthetics, a valuable tool to minimise pain and
ensure a virtually painless experience.

Beyond the practice, Ellena engages in voluntary dental outreach programs, contributing to oral
health awareness and giving back to the community.

Away from dentistry, Ellena practices yoga and challenges herself in the weight room where she
dedicates time to training to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. Beyond fitness she values
spending quality time with family
